Caribbean Food in Ottawa: Jerk Chicken, Oxtail and Roti Prices

For Caribbean food in Ottawa, start with the order you want: a quarter chicken with selected sides, an oxtail entrée or a roti. These three restaurants offer different ways to build that meal, and their menus make some useful distinctions between chicken cuts, wrapped fillings and mixed-meat combinations.

Fishys prices come from its direct takeout menu, Lil'Negril prices from its published website menu, and Ocho Rios prices are labelled by its own website or Skip delivery menu. Fishys Original Jerk — choose the chicken cut and sides

Fishys Original Jerk is at 2297 St. Joseph Boulevard in Orléans. Its direct ordering menu distinguishes three jerk chicken combos: 1/4 leg from $19.99, 1/4 breast from $21.99 and 1/2 chicken from $26.99. Choose the cut before comparing the price.

Opening the 1/4 leg item's options shows rice and peas selected, with white rice offered at no listed surcharge. Island vegetables are another choice. Four plantain pieces add $1.99; they are not automatically included free with that base price. Fries have a $1.99 surcharge as a rice alternative, while ground provision adds $2.45. These options were checked for this exact item, rather than assumed to apply to every combo.

For a wrapped order, the Curried Chicken Roti starts at $17 and contains chicken with curried potatoes inside a roti shell. Jerk Chicken Roti starts at $18, while Curried Goat Roti starts at $18.25. The menu also lists Oxtail from $20.99, but that starting amount does not establish a meat weight or the same chicken-combo sides.

Lil'Negril Island Grill — an entrée with rice and plantains

Lil'Negril is at 261 Centrepointe Drive. Its published website menu lists Jerk Chicken at $16, Curried Goat at $17.95 and Oxtail at $20.50. The entrée section explicitly includes fried plantains and rice with congo peas. It does not state a chicken fraction or meat weight for those examples.

That makes the entrée useful if you want the listed accompaniments together. It also explains why the $16 chicken listing cannot be compared directly with Fishys' named quarter-leg combo and its separate modifiers.

The menu's Bust Up Shut Roti section lists Boneless Curry Chicken Roti at $16.95, bone-in goat at $17.95 and vegetables at $17.50. Its chicken description presents the filling alongside roti, so do not assume the same wrapped format as Fishys. Rice costs extra with these rotis; confirm the current surcharge when ordering.

These are the restaurant's web menu amounts, not prices confirmed at a checkout. Its website offers dining-room seating and call-ahead takeout.

Ocho Rios — rotis or a named mixed-meat combo

Ocho Rios Caribbean Eatery lists its location as 1800 Bank Street, Unit 15, near Walkley Road. Its own roti category shows Jerk Chicken Roti at $15.99, Curry Goat Roti at $16.99 and Veggie Roti at $12.99. These are published website item listings; no weight or diner count is attached to them.

The restaurant also links directly to its Skip menu. With Delivery selected, that menu lists Jerk Chicken Roti at $17.99, Goat Roti at $18.99 and Veggie Roti at $14.99. Use the amount shown in the channel you are ordering from; the website price is not a delivery-price promise.

For two meats in one named menu item, Skip lists #1 Jerk Chicken and Oxtail (LG) at $29.99 and #2 Jerk Chicken and Curry Goat (LG) at $29.99. The listings identify the two meats and the LG size, but do not supply a reliable diner count or complete side specification. Confirm those details before treating a combo as a shared meal. A separate Jerk Chicken Side Order is $7.99 on Skip and explicitly contains four chicken pieces without sides.

Choose the meal before comparing the total

Check the chicken cut, whether a roti arrives wrapped or alongside its filling, and the exact sides attached to the selected item. A plantain side can be included in an entrée at one restaurant and an extra on a particular combo elsewhere. For two meats, confirm portion size rather than turning a menu's combo name into a meal-for-two claim.
