The quantities are not identical across the table. A box of rice is not a standardized weight across restaurants, and a menu's family label does not establish a guaranteed number of servings.

Nando's Elgin — choose the chicken, then choose sides

Nando's Elgin Street is at 90 Elgin Street, unit 3. Use the named branch's menu when comparing prices; Merivale is a separate location, and delivery listings can use different amounts.

The Elgin takeout menu lists quarter chicken leg and thigh at $11.50, quarter chicken breast and wing at $12.50, half chicken at $15 and whole chicken at $30. These are the base chicken listings. The half-chicken item screen explicitly offers No Sides, one side for $3.59 extra, or two sides for $5.99 extra. It also offers one large side for $5.99 extra. Read your selected item's options before treating a chicken price as a complete meal.

For a larger order, the Full Platter is $49.99 and describes a whole chicken, two large sides and garlic bread. Its options include sauces and cuts, with surcharges shown against some side choices. The operator describes this platter as for three people; appetite and additions still determine whether it fits your group.

Portugalos — compare chicken alone with the takeout combos

Portugalos lists its Ottawa restaurant at 2A–110 Bearbrook Road in Blackburn Hamlet. Its Gatineau restaurant is a different location. The prices here come specifically from the Ottawa takeout menu images linked on the operator's site.

One panel lists half chicken only at $16 and whole chicken at $26.50. The other panel lists half chicken with rice or fries at $19.50. Keep those two half-chicken orders separate when comparing a meal budget.

Combo 1 is $36 and specifies one whole chicken, one box of fries or rice, one box of salad and three Portuguese breads. Combo 2 is $47.50, with one and a half chickens, one box of fries or rice, one box of salad and four breads. The menu lists the contents, rather than a precise number of diners, so choose by those quantities and confirm what your group needs.

These are published takeout-menu prices, not a completed live checkout quote. The chicken-and-sides panel also has a less specific “chicken with rice/fries” label; this guide uses the explicitly named half-chicken and combo lines instead of guessing that item's portion.

Lusa Bakery — a Kanata chicken counter with different combo sizes

Lusa Bakery is at 420 Hazeldean Road in Kanata. Use that current address rather than the former Wellington Street bakery location.

Its official menu image lists full chicken at $24.99, half chicken at $17.99, quarter breast at $11.49 and quarter leg at $10.49. The official Square storefront also shows Full Chicken at $24.99 and identifies the Hazeldean address.

The Full Chicken Combo is $38.99 with two medium sides, while the Half Chicken Combo is $24.99 with two small sides. The panel lists salad, rice and fries as side choices, with potatoes extra. Follow the named combo's size note: the full-chicken line says medium, even though the surrounding section also mentions small sides.

The Family Combo is $59.99, with one whole chicken, two large sides and six pastéis de nata. Its side choices are salad, rice or fries, with potatoes extra. That dessert count is part of this specific combo; it should not be added to the smaller chicken combos by assumption.
