Celebrate Ottawa’s English- and French-language writers at the 2026 Ottawa Book Awards ceremony. The awards recognise fiction and non-fiction by local authors, and this year’s winners are announced during the evening.
Writer Iain Reid opens the event with a keynote about collaboration in the writing process. Hugues Beaudoin-Dumouchel hosts the bilingual ceremony, followed by a reception in the connected Black Box Studio. Octopus Books and Coin du livre will sell books by the finalists.
When: Saturday, November 14, 2026, at 7 pm. The library lists a 75-minute programme; it does not give a separate reception end time.
Where: Arts Court Theatre, on the third floor of 2 Daly Avenue. The reception is also on the third floor, in the Black Box Studio. An elevator serves this floor.
Admission: Free, and everyone is welcome. Follow the official registration link for current availability.
The library describes accessible entrances at 67 Nicholas Street and at 2 Daly Avenue, with assisted entry available through the latter entrance’s intercom. Paid parking is available at the Rideau Centre and Novotel Parkade. Check the library’s event page for complete access instructions or accommodation requests.
