Black History Walking Tour with Tom Barber

Black History Walking Tour with Tom Barber

FREE WALKING TOUR

Join Tom Barber for a walking tour of downtown Ottawa to learn about Ottawa’s Black history!

Tom is the grandson of Paul Barber, a horse trainer and early member of Ottawa’s Black community who is featured in the Bytown Museum’s temporary exhibition What’s in a Frame? 200+ Years of Community Portraits.

Hear Barber family stories as well as information about other Black families in Ottawa’s history as you walk down well-known streets and past familiar buildings uncovering our city’s connected histories.

Space is limited, so register soon! This is a free event, but donations to the Bytown Museum are encouraged.
