Bagels in Ottawa: Singles, Dozens and Breakfast Sandwiches

A bagel stop in Ottawa can be a single sesame bagel, a dozen to take home, or a filled breakfast sandwich. Those are different purchases: a price for an unfilled bagel does not include cream cheese, and a sandwich menu does not necessarily offer a bulk bagel order online.

Choose your bagel stop

The table compares ordering formats, rather than ranking taste or claiming that every shop sells an identical bagel. The dry toasted option is a prepared cafe item; it should not be treated as the same product as an unfilled bakery bagel.

Kettlemans Bank Street — singles or a bag for home

Kettlemans' Glebe location is at 912 Bank Street. Both the operator's directory and the Glebe BIA list it as open 24 hours. Check the exact branch when planning a late visit: the operator lists different hours for Kanata.

The Bank Street takeout menu listed a sesame single at $1.79, Classic half-dozen at $9.29 and Classic dozen at $14.49. The Classic dozen screen requires twelve choices from sesame, poppy and plain. The menu separately offers All Flavours packs: $9.49 for a half-dozen or $14.99 for a dozen. Read the selected pack's flavour choices before ordering.

The shop describes its Montreal bagels as hand-rolled, boiled in honey water and baked. Its menu also separates sandwiches, cream cheese and bagels, so start in the category that matches the meal you want. Buying an unfilled bagel and adding a spread is a different order from choosing a named sandwich.

Cadmans — compare six, twelve and the flavour mix

Cadmans Montreal Bagels lists 2177 Carling Avenue and unit 109, 150 Montreal Road. These are two branches of one operator, not two separate recommendations.

Its published bagel menu lists $2.29 each, $9.99 for a half-dozen and $13.99 for a dozen, with any combination. The flavour list includes sesame, poppy, plain, onion, garlic, cinnamon raisin, blueberry, all dressed and spicy jalapeño and cheddar. The list establishes the selection, rather than guaranteeing every flavour will be in stock when you arrive.

These are website menu prices, not a live branch checkout quote. Cadmans' delivery listings use different prices and promotions; do not substitute those totals for a counter order. Confirm your branch's current price and available flavour mix before making a special trip for a bulk purchase.

Ottawa Bagelshop and Deli — a prepared bagel or filled sandwich

Ottawa Bagelshop and Deli is at 1321 Wellington Street West. Its current website links to weekday online orders, which is the source of these pickup examples.

The cafe menu listed a dry toasted bagel for $2.50, a bagel with plain cream cheese for $4, and Eggcellent – Bacon for $8. The last is a sandwich with fried egg, bacon, Swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise. For a different filling, Bagelman's Choice was $13, with smoked salmon, cream cheese, capers, red onion and tomato.

Choose this stop by the sandwich you want to eat, then check the available bagel options in that item. The weekday ordering screen checked for this guide did not show a half-dozen or dozen bakery price. That does not mean the shop sells only sandwiches; it means this guide does not attach an unverified bulk price to the cafe menu.

Make the comparison fit your order

For bagels to take home, compare the same quantity and flavour selection. A dozen is twelve and a half-dozen is six, but a classic pack and an all-flavour pack may have different prices. Keep spreads and sandwich fillings separate when comparing the cost.

For breakfast now, look at the whole sandwich: the named filling, bagel selection and any extras. A cream cheese bagel and an egg sandwich answer different appetites. Use the current branch menu to check the total; these published examples are not an all-in citywide price ranking.
