Who knows exactly how long sisters Sissy and Yewina have been on their own? It’s just them - and their chickens - in a weathered farmhouse, miles from town. Their woodsy Nova Scotia community has been losing residents for years, but lives on in the almost-forgotten stories carried by the sisters. The guarded and level-headed Yewina tends to facts; but dreamer Sissy has a flair for twisting fact with fantasy. When Scott, an American grad student, shows up at their door in the hope of collecting a never-before-heard folktale, he’s in for much more of a story than he expected…
