Chef Marysol Foucault leads a Kitchen Experiences workshop exploring the sounds of cooking. The session is intended for teens ages 12–17 to attend together with a parent or guardian, and is conducted in French.
The demonstration uses sounds such as crackling almonds and the changing rhythm of bubbling browned butter to explore cooking techniques. The programme includes an almond and beurre noisette bar, hot and cold liquids, and a taste of sucre à la crème. A handout is provided.
Foucault’s career includes the restaurant Edgar and appearances on Food Network. In this workshop, she shares a practical way of paying attention to what happens in the kitchen.
