Curious about what it takes to be a paramedic? Explore the world of Ottawa Paramedic Service! Enjoy hands-on activities and life-saving skills demonstrations. Then, tour their fleet, including emergency response vehicles and specialized support vehicles. If you’re curious about emergency medicine, this is your chance to learn from the experts.
This event is included with museum admission. Youth 17 and under get free admission thanks to the Canada Strong Pass.
Paramedic for a day
Location: Special Exhibition Hall Hours: 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Step into a paramedic’s shoes through hands-on mini demonstrations on CPR, defibrillator use, bleeding control, and airway care. Meet the Service’s staff, test your emergency-response skills, and explore the tools that help save lives. Are you ready to respond? An experience for all ages!
Ottawa Paramedic Service fleet!
Location: Special Exhibition Hall Hours: 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Explore the vehicles that let Ottawa Paramedic Service respond in any situation. Step inside an ambulance to tour its lifesaving equipment and meet the professionals who use it every day. Then, discover some of the fleet’s most unique response vehicles, including a bus designed by the Service to act as a multi-patient unit, two different types of paramedic response vehicles that are used every day, and a utility terrain vehicle (UTV) designed to access hard-to-reach locations. Learn how each vehicle plays a unique role in supporting emergency operations.
