A debut book launch and live performance experience that blends poetry, music, and movement into one immersive evening.
Ottawa’s former Poet Laureate, Jamaal Amir Akbari, brings his first poetry collection to life alongside original music, exploring themes of identity, transformation, and self-discovery. The program features special guests Miss Ticca (dance and vocals), Apollo the Child (spoken word and rap), Abena Beloved Green (poetry and dance), and Amanda Lowe Warnakulasuriya (vocals, experimental-folk).
About Articipate
The Articipate Endowment Fund was established in 2007 by Arts Ottawa in partnership with the City of Ottawa to support artistic programming in professional spaces at the Shenkman Arts Centre, made possible through the generosity of the Province of Ontario, foundations, local businesses and individuals whom we thank for their leadership and gratefully acknowledge on our Donor Wall. Arts Ottawa supports and connects the local arts community, fostering collaboration and empowering creativity. We champion the arts as a vital force in Ottawa’s cultural, social, and economic life.
