Umbrella Bar is tucked into the Dow's Lake Pavilion, offering waterfront views over Dow's Lake — a widened section of the Rideau Canal. The spacious patio is one of Ottawa's best spots for a drink with a view, away from the downtown crowds.
The bar is open year-round, making it one of the few waterfront venues that doesn't close for winter.
Drinks & Food
The drink menu rotates seasonally with house cocktails, tiki creations, spritzes, sangria, local craft beers, and wine. Food is comfort-focused — popular items include sweet potato fries, shrimp rolls, fish tacos, fish and chips, fried chicken sandwiches, and burgers.
Events
Umbrella Bar hosts private functions including weddings and holiday parties throughout the year. Contact them for booking.
Tips
- The patio is the main attraction — come on a sunny day for the full experience
- Weekend evenings (Sat–Sun) stay open until 2 AM
- Paddleboat and kayak rentals are available at the Dow's Lake Pavilion in summer
