About Sharbot Lake Provincial Park
Sharbot Lake Provincial Park sits between two lakes — Sharbot Lake and Black Lake — about 100 minutes southwest of Ottawa on Highway 7. It's best known as a fishing destination, with walleye, bass, northern pike, trout, perch, and sunfish across both lakes.
The park is only about 15 minutes from Silver Lake Provincial Park, making the two a natural pair for anyone exploring camping options in the Lanark–Frontenac area.
Camping
The park has 176 campsites across four campgrounds, all pet-friendly:
Beach Front (45 sites)
29 sites with electrical hookups. 33 can accommodate RVs. Closest to the beach.
Maple Grove (52 sites)
15 sites with electrical hookups. 40 are RV-capable. Wooded setting.
The Point (36 sites)
13 RV-capable sites. More private, on a point extending into the lake.
Ridgeview (60 sites)
The largest loop with 6 RV-capable sites. Good for tent campers looking for space.
Two barrier-free sites are available.
Things to Do
Fishing
The main draw. Two lakes mean variety — cast from shore, fish from a dock, or launch a boat. Species include walleye, smallmouth and largemouth bass, northern pike, sunfish, trout, and perch.
Swimming
Sandy beach with a designated swimming area on Sharbot Lake.
Hiking
- Discovery Trail (1.2 km) — Moderate loop through the forest
- Ridgeview Trail (500 m) — Easy to moderate, shorter walk
Paddling
Canoe and kayak rentals available. Boat launch and docks on site for those bringing their own craft.
