Get to Know Your Sewing Machine
Artist and instructor Michelle Ferranti teaches a one-day beginner workshop at the Ottawa School of Art's Orléans campus, inside Shenkman Arts Centre. Learn to thread and operate your sewing machine, try different stitches and make a simple fashion accessory.
The class is Sunday, November 8, 2026, from 10 AM to 4:30 PM, at 245 Centrum Boulevard, Ottawa. The official activity number is F26SWS16. Registration lists ages 12 to 99 and a fee of $145 plus tax. An Ottawa School of Art membership is also marked as mandatory; review the membership choices and total at registration.
No previous sewing experience is required, but you must bring a working sewing machine, and its manual if available. A notebook, sewing scissors, straight pins and seam ripper are optional personal supplies. All other sewing materials are included.
Verified October 25, 2026 with the Ottawa School of Art's official activity registration.
