Indigenous Language in the City
Anishinàbe Aki, a billboard by Joi T. Arcand and Dani Printup, is on view at 905 Somerset Street West, across from the Plant Bath Recreation Centre. CUAG lists the project for October 6–November 1, 2026.
The work accompanies Arcand's The Shape of Words exhibition and extends its exploration of language and Indigenous presence into Little Italy. Its colourful composition refers to the historic Ottawa Civic Pharmacy sign, while its Anishinaabemowin text recognizes Algonquin land.
