David Suzuki’s Playlist: With the NAC Orchestra, in association with Why Not Theatre

Featuring a playlist curated and hosted live by David Suzuki, this special NAC Orchestra concert brings music and meaning together in a powerful new way.

Now 90 years old, David Suzuki is one of Canada’s most respected public intellectuals and environmental activists, and has spent decades helping people rethink their relationship with nature, science, and the future of our planet. For this event, he steps into the role of musical curator, sharing a personal selection of works that have inspired his thinking, his activism, and his sense of wonder.

Performed by the National Arts Centre Orchestra, the program traces an emotional and sonic journey through music connected to landscape, fragility, awe, and renewal. With Suzuki guiding the audience throughout the evening, each piece becomes part of a larger story about listening more closely, seeing more clearly, and reconnecting with the natural world around us.

A rare chance to experience a live orchestral event shaped by one of Canada’s most influential voices, and to hear how music and nature resonate together on the same stage.
