Discover the magic of music with cellist Beth Silver and pianist Jenna Richards in a lively, imaginative concert for children and families. Known for their warm, engaging style and inclusive approach, this beloved duo brings together everything from maritime fiddle tunes and traditional Klezmer to classical favourites and musical theatre, often inviting audiences to join in the fun through games and interactive moments.
Pianist Jenna Richards embraces a demanding schedule as a portfolio career musician, including performance, choral work, arts administration, research, and public speaking. She has earned myriad awards including Glenn Gould Scholarships and nine consecutive Nova Scotia Talent Trust awards. Richards’s collaborative spirit is evident in her musical endeavors. She has performed on stages from Toronto to Salzburg, commissioned works for various ensembles, and programmed 750+ events. In her limited spare time, Richards enjoys being in nature and learning languages.
Beth Silver is a Toronto-based cellist admired for expressive, compelling playing, an ability to paint in many colours through her instrument, and for capturing character and spontaneity in music. A lover of many genres, Silver is equally at home in a traditional classical ensemble as she is in a band arranging and exploring new voices for cello. Recently, she has also assumed the role as North America’s foremost (read: only) klezmer fiddle-style cellist.
