Canada Day in the capital is the country's biggest birthday celebration. The 2026 national festivities run across four official sites — LeBreton Flats Park, Parliament Hill, the lawn in front of the Supreme Court of Canada, and Old Hull in Gatineau — with the noon ceremony, the evening show, the Tim Hortons Canada Day Fireworks, the Snowbirds aerial show on Parliament Hill, and over thirty activities throughout the day. Live broadcasts of the main shows run on big screens at Parliament Hill and on the Supreme Court lawn.

National Evening Show — "Celebrating our Canada!"

Live from the capital, with performances from Moncton and Winnipeg, artists will join their voices and their energy to celebrate what brings us together: our love for our country and the pride of calling it home. Join us as we sing, dance and celebrate together.

Tim Hortons Canada Day Fireworks

The celebrations end with a bang in Canada's Capital Region. The sky over Ottawa-Gatineau lights up during the Tim Hortons Canada Day Fireworks at 10 PM.

Best places to watch: The fireworks are set off near LeBreton Flats Park. For an exceptional view, head to the park or nearby streets, which will be closed to traffic that day.

The historic ceremonial grounds — host to the marching bands and the Snowbirds.

Supreme Court of Canada

The Supreme Court lawn becomes a creativity hub — workshops, improv, magic, and the only morning yoga session of the day.

Old Hull (Gatineau)

The Gatineau side of the river — afternoon family fun and a late-night francophone music lineup that runs past the fireworks.

• 12 PM – 4 PM — Family Fun Day in Old Hull — Giant games, inflatable structures, face painting, DJ Gloryhull, and "Le Loop" interactive DJ booth workshops.
• 7 PM – 7:45 PM — Haviah Mighty (live) — Toronto-born rapper, musician, and producer brings fierce energy and politically charged lyrics to the main stage.
• 8:30 PM – 9:15 PM — Qualité Motel + Franky Fade + Virginie B — Members of Valaire blend DJ sets, remixes, Top 40 mash-ups, and originals with two special guests.
• 10:15 PM – 11 PM — LOUD — Grand Finale — Right after the fireworks, Canadian francophone rap icon LOUD closes out the celebrations. An epic finale.

• Getting to LeBreton Flats: Streets around LeBreton close to traffic on Canada Day. Transit is the easiest way in — O-Train Pimisi station is right next to LeBreton Flats Park.
• Getting to Parliament Hill / Supreme Court: Walkable from downtown; O-Train Parliament station is closest.
• Getting to Old Hull: Cross the river into Gatineau (a short walk from downtown Ottawa via the Portage Bridge or Alexandra Bridge).
