The Tim Hortons Ottawa Dragon Boat Festival is North America's largest dragon boat festival, taking place annually on the scenic Rideau River at Mooney's Bay. This free multi-day summer festival combines competitive racing with concerts, family fun, and local food vendors.
Festival Dates
June 19-21, 2026 at Mooney's Bay Park — daily 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM
Racing Schedule
Saturday, June 20: Teams compete in two 500m races across various Challenge Cup divisions
Sunday, June 21: Top teams advance to Grand Finals featuring:
- 100m races
- 200m races
- 500m races
Competition Divisions
- Community Division (all skill levels welcome)
- Corporate Division
- Competitive Division
- Special cups including Sue Holloway Cup, Panda Cup, Youth divisions, and more

About Dragon Boat Racing
Teams include up to 30 members paddling traditional dragon boats. The festival is open to participants of all skill levels, from first-time paddlers to competitive athletes.

- Bike paths along the Rideau River
- Car (parking available)
