Building A Story: STEAM Book Club

Building A Story: STEAM Book Club

Join us each month for a storytime followed by a building challenge before finishing with a show and tell. Using our story for inspiration, children will be asked to create a 3D version of a person, place, or animal using the supplies provided before telling us about their creation. Supplies provided might include Lego blocks, Magna Tiles, K'nex, cardboard, playdough, popsicle sticks, toothpicks and more! Registration required. Ages 5-8 and an adult co-learner. This is a literacy program that includes elements of Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math, and often overlaps with creativity – Arts. We use the acronym STEAM to describe this type of library program. Exploring STEAM activities helps develop critical thinking skills and promote collaboration. Connect with curiosity at Ottawa Public Library.
