Nidal Ibourk is an exceptional artist, scholar, and singer based in Montreal, Canada. She was born in Rabat, Morocco and moved to the United States to pursue her graduate studies. Her amazing talent as a singer was recognized early in the Arab world after competing in many international music shows.
Nidal performed in major performing arts centers in the U.S, Canada and Europe, such as the Institut du Monde Arabe in France, New York World Music Institute, San Diego Museum of Contemporary Art, Detroit Music Hall, Lincoln Theater, Chicago Millennium Park, Oscar Peterson Hall in Montreal and Canada’s prestigious Royal Conservatory in Toronto.
What distinguishes Nidal as an artist is her calibre and commitment to present the rich musical heritage of Arabic music from North Africa and the Middle East. The concert will celebrate the diversity of Canada’s cultural mosaic with classical Arabic music and showcase the marvellous work of female Arab legends such as Fairuz, Um Kulthum, Sabah, Warda, Majda Roumi, Najat Saghira and many more!
The NAC would like to acknowledge the generous support from Mohammad and Najla Al Zaibak.
