About
The Ottawa Little Theatre was founded in 1913 as the Ottawa Drama League and has been operating continuously ever since — making it the longest continuously running community theatre in Canada and one of the oldest in North America. In 1928 the organization moved to its current location at 400 King Edward Avenue, having purchased and renovated the Eastern Methodist Church. A fire destroyed the original building in 1970; the current 382-seat theatre (designed by W.E. Fancott) opened in 1972.
The company presents 9 plays per season in 3-week runs, running from late February through December — a full year of amateur theatre.
