Stéphane Wrembel, born in Paris and raised in Fontainebleau, is widely regarded as one of the world’s preeminent guitarists and composers, blending jazz, classical, blues, flamenco, and rock into a singular, genre-transcending sound. A protege of Sinti masters and a Berklee College of Music summa cum laude graduate, he has released numerous acclaimed albums, including Gypsy Rumble, Origins, and The Django Experiment series, and composed the Oscar®-winning theme Bistro Fada for Woody Allen’s Midnight in Paris. Wrembel performed at Carnegie Hall, Jazz at Lincoln Center, and festivals worldwide, collaborated with artists such as Esperanza Spalding and Al Di Meola, and founded the international Django à Gogo festival. His innovative projects, including Django New Orleans and the transcription of rare Django Reinhardt preludes, showcase his commitment to honouring tradition while expanding the guitar’s possibilities.
